' American Idol' Cancelled !

Bad News American Idol Fans ! After 14 seasons, FOX's American Idol is being cancelled.

There will be one more season that will air in January. This will be the 15th and last season. Rumor is that Jennifer Lopez, Harry Connick Jr, Keith Urban, and Ryan Seacrest will still be on for the last season. 

More than 38 million people would tune into 'American Idol' when the original judges were Simon Cowell, Paula Abdul, and Randy Jackson.

     "I left the show at the top. After I left, my presence, it felt different, and then a year later Simon left, and it feels different, and many years later Randy left", said Paula to Extra.

She went on and said :
     "But the judges are fantastic, they're brilliant at what they do and they're fun to watch. The chemistry between J.Lo and Harry and Keith, they're wonderful, but I think that [at] a certain point maybe everything comes to a close. Maybe it's run its course, but it's a show that changed people's lives, changed my life too. Really legitimate super stars came out of the show, and people's dreams have come true and they’re living it."
Simon Cowell wrote his response on twitter about his time on the show. 

      "One of greatest talent shows ever. Gave us all huge careers and birthed sooooo many stars of today. #idol," he tweeted. "Many have tried to imitate it but there will never be anything like #idol Thanks fans & talent Yall made it possible. Lets b bout the future", wrote former judge Randy Jackson.

With other singing competition shows like ' The Voice' and 'The X Factor' on the rise, the ratings were going lower and lower. Many changes were done to the show throughout the years. According to CNN , the show's rating fell 10% or more every season as well as the demographics.

"Mariah and Nicki was just crazy, and then it really started becoming about the judges and took away from the contestants altogether," said Former producer Nigel Lythgoe to Billboard. "It's the right thing to do," said Lythgoe about preserving the show's legacy.

Long time viewers were sad about the news. But other people on Twitter said they stopped watching years ago. More people were happy that the show was ending.

If you want to read a funny article about the show '! E' posted an article called, "37 People Who Think Canceling American Idol Is the Best Decision Anyone Has Ever Made in the History of Time." This showed that many people agreed with the cancellation of the show.

    “I knew American Idol would never last without me #CANCELLED”, tweeted former host Brian Dunkleman. Who was only on for one season and took it to Twitter  to joke about ‘ American Idol’ being cancelled.

Twitter follower Gav who is @Miracleofsound on tweeted she was very happy that the show was ending. She tweeted ,"American Idol was a festering, rancid, pus spewing tumour - an amalgam of everything wrong with the music industry. Good riddance!

Martin Tsai tweeted similiar lyrics to first's years winner Kelly Clarkson's song " A moment like this" making fun of the show's cancellation.

'American Idol' launched the start of many people's careers. Especially the host of the show , Ryan Seacrest who is now a household name.

Many of these stars are still doing what they love and still remember what helped launch their career.Even though contestants didn't win, many of them became stars and didn't need a record deal to be winners.

This show has changed peoples lives. Singers like Kelly clarkson, Jennifer hudson, Adam lambert , Carrie Underwood, Daughtry, Phillip Phillips, Kellie Pickler , Katherine Mchpee, David Archuleta,  Scotty Mcreery, and Jordin Sparks have made a name for themselves.


As the 14th season comes to end , they promise to "pay tribute to the past 14 seasons of amazingly talented contestants and the millions of fans who tweeted, texted and championed their Idols."


The last season will be a season to watch. It will air January 2016.
